The name of Torre Pedrera comes from an ancient tower built in 1673 erected by the Papal Pontificio. The tower had a strategic role for the maritime activities, defence against the Saracen pirates and the invasion of the Turks. Already as far back as 1842 the nautical maps reported the tower as a crucial point for the upper Adriatic. It rose near a river called the "Pedriera" from whose river bed the locals excavated stones to build their dwellings. Today Torre Pedrera is a happy tourist location, situated in the Romagnola region, synonymous of tourism, entertainment, good food and hospitality. It has always been a reference point for everyone that intends to enjoy their seaside holidays. To come to Torre Pedrera means to appreciate the quality of living and calmness of this location, to find the right mix between beach and hotels, services, right prices and…the right amount of relaxation and entertainment. Beach Life Torre Pedrera is right next to the sea with wonderful white and very fine sand spread along almost 2km of beach with 20 beach and bathing establishments directly managed by the beach "bagnini". The bathing establishments are the fulcrum of days holiday and are equipped with every imaginable comfort including changing rooms, hot and cold showers, toilets, dedicated games and activity areas for children and adults, entertainment services such as bowling tournaments, beach volley, fitness, swimming, boat hire, canoes, pedal boats, sea boat excursions. Sea bathing is possible in perfect safety, both for the slow and low safe water ideal for the kids as well as the constant supervision with life savers placed every 150 meters. There is also a lost persons service with a loudspeaker system along all the beach and paramedics on hand. |

The value of tradition Lovers of the 'good and healthy' cuisine find themselves immersed in the excellent art of eating well not just in the grande hotels of the Riviera but also in the local family run hotels, small and large restaurants disseminated all over the area, both along the seafront as well as the hills. The first dishes satisfy those of fine palates as well as those of rustic tastes, including passatelli in brodo, tortellini, cappelletti, tagliatelle al sugo di ragù, lasagne, strozza preti, tortelloni di pesce, tagliolini allo scoglio follow those tasty appetizers with a multitude of types of crostini. To finish off with charcoal cooked fish of every kind, grilled meat accompanied with fresh or oven cooked vegetables and married with red wines such as Sangiovese, Cagnina, and white wines such as Albana and Trebbiano, the produce of sun soaked grapevines that drape nearby countryside hills. All of this with the mandatory accompaniment and sovereignty of our cuisine: the Piadina. Lots of Piadina, thick or thin, soft or crunchy, simple or with extra fillings and also perfectly cooked. Ah! I almost forgot the home made pasta, in the finest tradition with flour, eggs and hard manually laid down sheets of "sfoglia". |

With courses for: football, handball, basketball, volleyball, football-tennis, 5 aside football, tennis, table tennis, martial arts, fitness, mini-athletics, sailing as well as cycling trips, treasure hunts, and various activities and games for children.
